Data Sources
All financial data presented on this dashboard comes from publicly available sources:
- SEC EDGAR: Company financial filings (10-K, 10-Q) via the SEC's XBRL data feed. This includes income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and all fundamental metrics.
- Yahoo Finance: Historical adjusted close prices for US-listed equities.
- Federal Reserve FRED: Macroeconomic data including CPI, GDP, unemployment, PCE, M2 money supply, and nonfarm payrolls.
- Binance: Real-time and historical cryptocurrency price data via public API.
- US Treasury: Daily Treasury yield curve rates and SOFR benchmark rates.
Data Processing and Methodology
Our data pipeline processes company filings from the SEC EDGAR XBRL feed, which provides structured financial data that companies submit with their 10-K and 10-Q reports. We extract key line items — revenue, net income, operating income, total assets, total liabilities, shareholders' equity, cash from operations, EPS, and more — and compute derived financial ratios automatically.
All computed metrics are clearly labeled and can be cross-referenced against the original SEC filings. We update financial data as new filings become available. Price data is sourced from Yahoo Finance and updated daily. Macroeconomic indicators from FRED are refreshed on their respective release schedules.
Why Use LionCharts?

There are no account registrations, no subscription tiers, and no artificial limits on how many companies you can analyze. The tool is designed for individual investors, students, researchers, and anyone interested in making data-driven investment decisions using publicly available SEC filing data.
